Herpes Simplex

Herpes Simplex is a common viral sexually transmitted disease.  An estimated one in eight people in the United States aged 14 to 49 years have genital herpes.

Symptoms

Most have NO symptoms.

Health problems

Causes painful blisters and sores on the genital area that reoccur. Can cause severe problems with newborns if exposed.

Treatments

Symptoms treated with drugs but CANNOT be cured.

Vaccine

There is no vaccine for Herpes Simplex.
